Glenn Hughes - Burning Japan Live (1994)

 

Burning Japan Live és un àlbum en directe de l'antic vocalista i baixista de Deep Purple, Black Sabbath i Trapeze Glenn Hughes. Va ser gravat al Club Citta de Kawasaki, Japó, el dimarts 24 de maig i el dimecres 25 de maig de 1994 en suport de l'àlbum d'estudi From Now On.... Aquest va ser el primer àlbum en solitari en directe que va ser llançat per Hughes. Conté una llista de quinze cançons, quatre del seu àlbum en solitari de 1994 From Now On..., tres cançons de l'àlbum Hughes/Thrall i set números de Deep Purple. També inclou una cançó mai escoltada titulada Still In Love With You, on Hughes toca els teclats. La banda d'Hughes per als concerts era la mateixa que la banda que va tocar a From Now On..., incloent-hi els membres europeus Mic Michaeli, John Levén i Ian Haugland (que només van actuar als bonus tracks de From Now On...). Cal destacar que una versió en directe del tema Kiss Of Fire (del primer àlbum Phenomena) es va gravar durant la mateixa actuació i es va incloure a l'EP Talk About It. Hi ha un error a les notes de la màniga de l'àlbum; atribueixen erròniament les cançons This Time Around i Owed To G a Bolin/Hughes/Paice, quan haurien de llegir Hughes/Lord i Bolin, respectivament.

Burning Japan Live est un album live de Glenn Hughes, ancien chanteur et bassiste de Deep Purple, Black Sabbath et Trapeze. Il a été enregistré au Club Citta à Kawasaki, au Japon, les mardi 24 mai et mercredi 25 mai 1994 à l'appui de l'album studio From Now On .... C'était le premier album solo officiel à sortir par Hughes. Il comprend une set-list de quinze chansons, quatre de son album solo de 1994 From Now On..., trois chansons de l'album Hughes/Thrall et sept numéros de Deep Purple. Il contient également une chanson inédite intitulée Still In Love With You, sur laquelle Hughes joue des claviers. Le groupe de Hughes pour les concerts était le même que le groupe qui jouait sur From Now On..., y compris les membres européens Mic Michaeli, John Levén et Ian Haugland (qui n'ont joué que sur les morceaux bonus de From Now On...). Il est à noter qu'une version live du morceau Kiss Of Fire (du premier album de Phenomena) a été enregistrée lors de la même performance et incluse sur l'EP Talk About It. Il y a une erreur dans les notes de pochette de l'album; ils attribuent par erreur les morceaux This Time Around et Owed To G à Bolin/Hughes/Paice, alors qu'ils devraient lire respectivement Hughes/Lord et Bolin.

 

Burning Japan Live is a live album by former Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Trapeze vocalist and bassist Glenn Hughes. It was recorded at the Club Citta in Kawasaki, Japan on Tuesday 24 May and Wednesday 25 May 1994 in support of the studio album From Now On.... This was the first official live solo album to be released by Hughes. It features a set-list of fifteen songs, four from his 1994 solo album From Now On..., three songs from the Hughes/Thrall album and seven Deep Purple numbers. It also features a never before heard song titled Still In Love With You, on which Hughes plays keyboards. Hughes’ band for the concerts was the same as the band that played on From Now On..., including Europe members Mic Michaeli, John Levén and Ian Haugland (who only performed on the bonus tracks from From Now On...). It is of note that a live version of the track Kiss Of Fire (from the first Phenomena album) was recorded during the same performance and included on the Talk About It EP. There is an error in the sleeve notes for the album; they mistakenly credit the tracks This Time Around and Owed To G to Bolin/Hughes/Paice, when they should read Hughes/Lord and Bolin, respectively.
